Make a YouTube Playlist in just a few steps

YouTube is the go-to place for people to show their creative side to the world. The wide variety of video content available on YouTube can make it difficult for viewers to find exactly what they’re looking for. This is where the YouTube playlist option comes into play. Imagine searching for a hairbrush in a supermarket that is not organized into sections. Sounds taxing, right? YouTube playlists are intended to save you from just that!

In this article, I’m going to show how you can make a YouTube playlist in just a few steps. It doesn’t matter if you’re a creator or a viewer on YouTube; you’ll find anything and everything related to YouTube playlists here.

For YouTube creators

If you’re a content creator on YouTube, then there’s a high chance that you want your videos to be discovered. YouTube playlists help your videos to appear in searches twice: as a single video and as a part of the playlist. This increases visibility and enables you to rank higher in search results! Read below to find out how to create a playlist for your channel.

How to create a playlist

Each channel has its own playlists. So first, you have to pick the channel for which you want to create a playlist. Next, click on your avatar. This will give you a drop-down menu. From the menu, click on the “My Channel” option. This will direct you to the hub of your channel. Click on “Customise Channel” to view all the video managing options.

From the menu select the “Playlists” option, and then click the “New Playlist” button to get the process started.

• Playlist title: Create an appealing title for your playlist by including keywords. Keep in mind the word limit for the title: 150 characters. The title should be attention-grabbing and describe your content.
• Add videos: Click the “Edit” button and select “Add videos”. YouTube offers three features to add videos to your playlist.

You can use the video search option to browse through the YouTube collection. Once you find the video you want, you can select and add it to your playlist.

You can also use the URL option. All you need to do is copy and paste the URL of the video in the bar provided, and click the “Add video” button. For this option, you can choose videos from anywhere on the internet including YouTube.

If you want to create a playlist out of your videos, then use the third option. It enables you to search through your library and add your videos to the playlist.

Once you’ve finished adding videos to the playlist, YouTube will take you to the playlist manager page. Here you can see your videos neatly organized into playlists, and ready to take your viewers on an exciting journey.

Creating a playlist of your favorite songs and sharing mutually liked content with each other, all this is not a thing of the past. These gestures are still very much appreciated. So, here’s a bit of good news. You can do all of this with YouTube playlists! You can place your favorite videos according to their themes into a playlist for ease of access. Now, you no longer have to worry about watching videos in one go because you may never find it again. Thanks to the “Watch Later” playlist that comes pre-set on your YouTube account. You can create a motivational playlist, study music playlist, or workout playlist - the possibilities are endless. Here’s how you can make a YouTube playlist in just a few steps.

How to create a playlist

To make a YouTube playlist in just a few steps first log in to your YouTube account. Start searching for desired videos. If you come across a video you like and want to save it to a playlist with similar videos, then all you have to do is click on the “Add to” button. This will show you a drop-down menu. From the menu, tick the playlist you want to add your video in. And you’re done! Now, you can watch your favorite videos without the hassle of clicking the play button.

Additionally, if you select the “Add to” button and don’t see a suitable playlist. Then you can create your own by selecting the “Create new playlist” option. This will require you to give a title to the playlist. The title has a 150 character limit as described above in the YouTube creator section. You can change the privacy settings as you wish. Privacy options

Some people prefer to keep their interests hidden. While some want to share with the world for a chance to form a connection. YouTube provides you with a few privacy options, so you can choose the one you like for your playlists.

• Public: Public playlists can be viewed by anyone that comes across your channel. They can also pop up in search results. So, everything is out in the open with this option.
• Private: Private playlists are only visible to you. You have the option to invite people to view your playlist. But unless you enable the invite option, you can browse your playlists in private.
• Unlisted: Unlisted playlists will not show up in search results or your channel. Only people who have the link to your playlist can view it. So, you can share unlisted playlists with selected people.

Edit your playlists

You’ve created your playlist on YouTube, but now you want to make some changes to it. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

You can re-order your videos in a playlist. Select the playlist that you want to edit. Move your pointer to the video you want to re-position. The pointer will turn into a hand. You can now drag and position the video wherever you like in the playlist.

You can choose any video to be the thumbnail for the playlist. All you have to do is select the desired playlist. Hover over the video, and you will see three dots appear at the corner. Click on the dots.

This will give you a drop-down menu. From the menu, select the option of “Set as playlist thumbnail”.

If you wish to remove a video, click on the three dots of the required video. From the drop-down menu, select the option to remove the video. You can also delete an entire playlist by going to the settings option of the playlist. From the drop-down menu, select the option “Delete playlist”.
