Logging Out of YouTube

  • The first step is to go to Youtube.com through your preferred web browser and see if you already logged in.
  • If you are logged in, a profile picture/icon will be displayed on the top-right screen. It will appear in a small circle on the screen.

  • Open YouTube either through the web browser or the application itself. The application is a white triangle encased in a red rectangle. It’s mostly located on the home screen.
  • Once the application opens, click on the account photo, it will be the small circle located on the screen, either on the top or the bottom.
  • Now you will tap switch account, it will be on the bottom of the menu.

  • The first step is to open your YouTube application on your android phone. You can either use the application or the browser. You just have to make sure you are logged into that application or browser.
  • Be careful as signing out of YouTube on Android means that you will automatically remove the account from the phone and will also sign you out from applications that share the account e.g. Gmail, Maps, etc.
  • By following these steps, you will effectively remove the account. So if you don’t want to remove the account you do have the option to browse anonymously.
  • Tap on the profile icon, it will be the circle on the top right corner of the screen. This will open up a menu screen.
  • Scroll down and you will see the option to “Switch Account”. It will be towards the bottom of the menu. A whole list of accounts will appear.
  • Now you will see the option to manage accounts of Sign out from YouTube. These two options are the most common, however, these can vary depending on the version and settings of YouTube you use.
  • You can tap the account to remove it. This will immediately remove the information attached to your android phone.
  • After the removal, you will be completely signed out from YouTube.
