We have different ways and methods of how to connect Twitch to Discord. Let’s first understand the general approach of connecting these through a desktop.
1. On Windows/ Mac PC
Discord works the same way for both operating systems. So, the process for connecting an existing Discord account to Twitch is almost the same.
- First, begin the integration process by logging in to your Discord account.
- Click on the ‘User Settings’ icon at the bottom of the window.
- In the left-side menu of the User Settings, select the ‘Connections’ option.
- A list of all the possible connections appears on the screen. Select the Twitch icon from them. Usually, it is the first icon on this list.
This completes the account integration process. We now need to select the server and sync it.
- Head back to the ‘Discord Settings’ and click on ‘Server Settings’ this time.
- You should see the ‘Twitch Integration’ option as you already completed the integration. Select it once you find it, and adjust the permissions as per preference.
- All the new settings can be found under the ‘Server Settings’ option. Sync the server once you adjust all the permissions.
Your sync is now ready, and you have established a connection between the platforms. You can also do the same on your smartphone. The following are the steps for how to connect Twitch to Discord through a mobile.
2. On Android/ iOS Phones
If you wish to use a Twitch-integrated Discord, you’ll need to sync it first. A laptop/ desktop is necessary for the sync.
- Open the Discord app and select the ‘User Settings’ option.
- Click on ‘Connections’ from the available options, and you’ll see a list of all the possible integrations.
- Select Twitch from the list. You need to sign in to your Twitch account here.
- Complete the sign-in, pick your streamer and the desired server.
As soon as you complete this sync, you can use the integrated servers on any smartphone.
3. For non-streamers
It’s not necessary that all of us are streamers on Twitch. Most of us could be regular subscribers too. If you are a non-streamer and yet, wish to connect your Twitch to Discord, follow these steps:
- Sign in to Discord using your credentials.
- Head to the ‘Connections’ option available under the ‘User Settings’ menu.
- As mentioned above, you’ll see a series of options that are possible for integration. Click on the Twitch icon from the list.
- Follow the prompt instructions and sign in to Twitch through your account credentials.
- Pick the server you wish to join from your stream subscriptions list.
Remember that you don’t have to link the accounts all the time. It is indeed an excellent move for streamers. If you are just a subscriber, you may choose against it. Some communities require their viewers to participate in their chats while they host their events. You can integrate the accounts if you wish to fulfill these requirements. In the end, be it a streamer or a subscriber, it is your call to make a move.
