Almost everyone has “lurked” at another Instagram account at some point. There has most likely been a moment when even you wanted to view someone’s story. You might’ve wanted to keep a close eye on a former best friend or a past partner. Perhaps you’re performing research for your business. But whatever the reason, here are the steps on how to view Instagram stories anonymously.

How To View Instagram Stories Anonymously

How To View Instagram Stories Anonymously

As we know, when someone shares a Story, Instagram notifies them of how many people have seen it. So, the most difficult part of viewing someone’s story is trying to avoid getting caught. And, of course, evading the person’s viewer list.

If you wish to view someone’s story anonymously, you can follow these steps. But before we start, keep in mind that these methods work only on accounts you follow. Also, if you’re looking for more likes on your posts, visit our website. Now, let’s dive in:

Pull Around The Cube

Step 1: Choose the story you want to view. And what you’re going to do is press the story before the story you want to view.

Step 2: You’ll then have to press and hold your finger on the screen. After that, gently tilt it almost all the way over. It’ll look like a big cube, and you’ll be able to see the person’s story.

Step 3: Make sure to keep holding as you use the method. Also, so long as you don’t let go or tip over into that next story, you’ll not be on the viewer list.

For example: If you want to view Disney’s story, you’ll have to tap the story uploaded before Disney, i.e., H&M. You can then press, hold and tilt over to view Disney’s story without getting caught.

This is how you view stories without the user knowing

Block for 24 Hours

Even if the person has a series of posts uploaded on their story, you can still view their full story. But for this to work, you’ve got to be quick to ensure you are not on their viewer list.

Step 1: Go to the person’s profile and view their story.

Step 2: You’ll then have to move very fast and block the account for 24 hours.

Since Instagram allows a story to stay posted only for 24 hours, the person will not be able to see your account. Thus, if you block that person for 24 hours after viewing their content, your profile will not be on the list.

Use A Third-Party Website

Step 1: For the final method, go to storysaver.net.

Step 2: You can then scroll down, and you’ll find a tab to enter a username under “Download Instagram Story.”

Step 3: Enter the username of the account you wish to download. You can then press “Download” and check the captcha.

Step 4: A pop-up notification will appear, displaying the story. You’ll also be able to view when the account user posted the story.

Step 5: You can go ahead and tap on “save as photo.” And the website will directly save the photo to your camera reel. The website can also download video stories. There is also a desktop version of this website.

So, if you’re using your laptop or your computer, you can also use this website to get a copy of people’s Instagram stories.

Use an External App

Another way to view a story anonymously is by using an external app. Similar to using a third-party website, you can also use a third-party app to view and download stories.

Step 1: Visit the App Store for iPhones and Play Store for androids and install story save apps. There are multiple apps to download stories. You can download one with a 4.5+ rating and with a high user download.

Step 2: Install the app on your phone. Once you download it, you can open up the app and simply log in with your Instagram username.

Step 3: Search for the account and download their story. It will save the story in your camera reel for you to view.
