With Instagram, you can now create video Reels. Learn how to delete Instagram Reels if you no longer want them.

Unquestionably, reels on Instagram are one of the things that contribute to the social media site's well-deserved popularity. If you enjoy making Reels, you know it often takes more than one recording to get the best results.

Fortunately, Instagram provides a valuable option to make drafts, even for Reels. This is extremely advantageous when you wish to modify and upload the video afterward.

However, after you've chosen and uploaded the winning reels, you might need to delete some of the draft reels you created. Alternatively, you could not like any of your draft Reels and want to delete them to clean up your profile because it might be challenging to find where the drafts are kept. Deleting Reel drafts can be a bit tough. In the instructions below, you'll discover how to remove draft Reels on Instagram and where they are saved.

How to delete the draft of an Instagram reel:

  • Visit Instagram.
  • On the Profile icon, tap
  •  the Reels icon on your profile by tapping it.
  • Toggle drafts, then click Select.
  • Choose the draft you want to remove.
  • Then select Discard from the screen's bottom menu.

Access Instagram's Reels section.

You must first open the IG app on your phone to erase the reels draft. Click on your profile icon in the lower right corner of the home screen to access your profile. Several icons designating the different content types are shown on your profile page. For instance, the play icon for videos longer than 30 seconds, the grid symbol for seeing your posts, reels, and videos at once, and the reels icon for insta reels.

To access the reels tab, tap the Reels icon.

Go to Reels Draft.

Tap the "Drafts"-designated rectangle on the reels page. It is the first choice shown before the reels are shown. The Drafts folder holds all of the unpublished videos on Instagram. Since all your reel movies are drafted in one location, it is simpler to delete them all at once.

Choose the Reels Draft that you no longer desire.

In the upper right corner, tap the "select" button. Then, tap each Reel that you want to remove from your phone. If you want to remove the entire reel draft at once, you can choose all of the reels.

Remove the draft for reels from your account.

Hit the "Discard" button at the bottom of the page after selecting all of the reel drafts you do not intend to submit. You've freed the space by successfully deleting an Instagram reel draft.
